Becoming familiar with aluminum as a material allowed María Angélica Viso to acquire greater freedom in her processes. Starting in 2014, she created the series Deshojando (Defoliating), in which she somehow “tears” the sheet metal as if it were a “sheet of paper.” In this series, as in others, the hardness of steel becomes an image of lightness.
