Starsky Brines

My painting does not represent: it drives. The hybrid bodies that emerge imperfect, intense, contradictory embody the tension of existence.
In that tension appears an involuntary, almost biological humor, an irony that destabilizes and reveals the humanity we try to hide.
The work is a pulse, an energy that transforms matter and at the same time exposes us.

I paint that moment when the mask breaks and the essential bursts forth, reminding us how fragile the fiction of being someone really is.
